Why AfriGuide exists
Most African review sites tell you what pays the most commission. We tell you what actually works.
AfriGuide was built because the honest resource didn\’t exist.
Every Nigerian who has searched \”best hosting in Nigeria\” has found the same thing: a dozen articles written by the hosting companies themselves, or by affiliate bloggers recommending whoever pays the highest commission. The reviews are identical. The star ratings are suspiciously perfect. Nobody mentions that the ₦3,000 first-year price becomes ₦12,000 at renewal.
AfriGuide is the alternative. Independent, opinionated, and specific to the African experience of using these tools.
Who builds AfriGuide
AfriGuide is founded and edited by [Your Name], a Nigerian writer and digital product creator with an MSc in Economics from the University of Ibadan. Before AfriGuide, [he/she] spent years in automotive journalism including editorial leadership at motorandwheels.com, wrote a 31-chapter solar buying guide for the Nigerian market, and built multiple digital products sold across Africa and internationally.
That background matters. The solar content on this site is not copied from manufacturer websites — it comes from genuine research that became a published guide. The hosting reviews are based on actual accounts with real money spent. The japa resources reflect real conversations with Nigerians who have gone through the process.
What AfriGuide covers
Four content pillars, chosen deliberately:
Web Hosting & Website Tools — independent comparisons of Nigerian and international hosting providers, with honest renewal pricing, real uptime data, and Nigerian card acceptance tested.
Digital Business Tools — SaaS platforms, email marketing tools, and digital product solutions reviewed specifically for African users: naira pricing, Nigerian card compatibility, dollar income pathways.
Japa & Relocation — practical resources for Nigerians planning to relocate abroad, covering documents, costs, timelines, and tools across UK, Canada, Germany, Australia, and the USA.
Solar & Energy — independent solar buying guides and ROI analysis for Nigerian homeowners and businesses, including the honest payback calculation that solar salespeople prefer you not to see.
Editorial standards
Every AfriGuide article includes a \”who should skip this\” section. Every review includes at least one honest limitation. If a product does not work well for Nigerian users — bad card acceptance, poor support, misleading pricing — we say so, even when we have an affiliate relationship with the provider.
Affiliate commissions fund this site. That relationship is disclosed on every page and in every article. It does not change what we write.
